Blue-Spotted Bristletooth Tang – Ctenochaetus marginatus
 
The Blue-Spotted Bristletooth Tang, also known as the Bluespotted Surgeonfish, is a rare,  beautiful and less commonly seen member of the Ctenochaetus genus. It is recognised for its refined spotted patterning, subtle blue detailing and active grazing behaviour, making it an excellent choice for larger, mature marine aquariums.
 
This species is best suited to established systems with plenty of live rock, open swimming space and natural algae growth. Like other bristletooth tangs, it spends much of its time grazing film algae and detritus from rockwork and aquarium surfaces, helping bring both movement and practical utility to the reef.
 
Generally reef safe with corals and most invertebrates, but it may show territorial behaviour towards similar-shaped tangs or other surgeonfish, especially in smaller aquariums.
 
A varied diet should include marine algae, nori, spirulina-based foods, quality pellets and enriched frozen foods to maintain colour, condition and long-term health.
