These exceptional specimens display rich, saturated base tones paired with incredibly vibrant, extended polyps that glow vividly under reef lighting. The depth of colour is remarkable — bold, clean, and highly fluorescent — creating a striking contrast that makes them stand out even in established, high-end reef systems.
We genuinely haven’t seen this level of intensity in Japanese Toadstools for quite some time. The vibrancy, polyp density, and overall health on these pieces make them something special.
About Japanese Toadstools
Japanese Toadstools, belonging to the Sarcophyton genus, are premium leather corals prized for their elegant structure and flowing polyp extension. Unlike standard toadstools, deep Japanese variants are particularly sought after for their stronger colour saturation and higher polyp density.
When fully extended, they create a soft, flowing canopy effect that adds both movement and texture to a reef aquarium. They are also known for being hardy and adaptable once established.
Care Requirements
•Lighting: Moderate (can adapt to slightly higher light once settled)
•Flow: Moderate to strong, indirect flow to encourage full polyp extension
•Placement: Mid to upper areas of the aquarium
These pieces are fully settled, healthy, and showing excellent extension — ready to thrive in their new homes.
