Ultra Grade Florida Ricordea (Ricordea florida)
Florida Ricordea (Ricordea florida) are among the most colourful and sought-after corallimorphs in the reef aquarium hobby. Known for their vibrant colour combinations and distinctive bubble-like vesicles, these beautiful mushrooms add incredible visual impact and texture to reef aquariums.
 
Colour & Appearance
Florida Ricordea display an amazing range of colours including bright oranges, blues, greens, yellows, purples and multi-colour “rainbow” variations. Their disc is covered in soft, bubble-like vesicles that give them a rich, three-dimensional appearance. Many specimens feature contrasting mouths and radial patterns that glow intensely under blue spectrum lighting, producing stunning fluorescence.
 
Placement & Flow Requirements
Ricordea florida thrive under low to moderate lighting and prefer gentle to moderate water flow. Best placed on lower rockwork or in areas with slightly reduced lighting. Avoid strong, direct flow which may cause the coral to retract.
Care Level & Compatibility
Florida Ricordea are generally considered hardy and adaptable, making them suitable for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. With stable water parameters, they can gradually multiply and form beautiful clusters over time.
