A distinctive and highly effective algae grazer, the Long-Spined Sea Urchin is a useful addition to the marine clean-up crew. It helps control film algae and nuisance algae on rockwork and aquarium surfaces while adding dramatic movement and character to the reef. Generally reef safe, but its long sharp spines require careful handling and it may dislodge loose frags or unsecured coral pieces. Best kept in an established aquarium with plenty of natural algae to graze.
