- Rainbow Flame Yuma (Ricordea yuma)
The Rainbow Flame Yuma (Ricordea yuma) is a spectacular corallimorph prized for its fiery colour patterns and textured, bubble-covered surface. Its disc is adorned with raised vesicles that create a rich, three-dimensional appearance, while its intense “flame-like” streaks radiate from the mouth outward, giving it a dramatic and eye-catching presence in any reef aquarium.
- Colour & Appearance
True to its name, the Rainbow Flame Yuma showcases bold blends of red, orange and yellow, often contrasted with greens, blues or purples. Under blue spectrum lighting, its fluorescence becomes even more vivid, with the mouth and radial patterns glowing brilliantly. Each specimen displays unique patterning, making every piece one of a kind.
- Placement & Flow Requirements
Ricordea yuma prefers low to moderate lighting and gentle, indirect water flow. Avoid strong, direct flow, which can cause the coral to retract or detach. Best placed on lower rockwork or in sheltered areas where it can fully expand.
Providing stable placement allows the Yuma to inflate properly and display its full colour potential.
- Care Level & Compatibility
Suitable for most reef keepers with stable systems, the Rainbow Flame Yuma is relatively hardy once established. It is generally peaceful but should be given adequate space from aggressive neighbours.

- Summary
With its intense flame-like colouration and rich texture, the Rainbow Flame Yuma makes a vibrant focal point and adds striking contrast to both nano and larger reef aquariums.
