From My Personal Collection 
This particular Rainbow Skittles Cyphastrea comes from my personal collection, where it has been growing in my system for over two years. During that time it has developed a beautiful, well-established encrusted base, showing excellent health, colour and stability. Being a long-term aquacultured piece, it is already well adapted to aquarium life and stable reef conditions. The extended growth period has allowed the coral to fully settle and develop its vibrant colouration and characteristic encrusting form, making it a proven and established addition to any reef aquarium.
 
Rainbow Skittles Cyphastrea (Cyphastrea spp.)
The Rainbow Skittles Cyphastrea is a stunning encrusting coral prized for its vibrant multi-colour appearance and incredible polyp definition. This eye-catching variety forms a colourful carpet across rockwork, with bright, jewel-like polyps that create a spectacular “skittles” effect throughout the colony.
 
Colour & Appearance
True to its name, the Rainbow Skittles Cyphastrea displays a dazzling mix of colours including bright oranges, reds, greens, yellows and blues scattered across a contrasting base. Each small polyp glows intensely, giving the coral a highly detailed and almost pixel-like pattern. Under blue spectrum lighting, the colours fluoresce brilliantly, making the colony appear as if it is covered in tiny glowing gems.
 
Placement & Flow Requirements
Cyphastrea corals thrive under low to moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow. Unlike many SPS corals, they prefer slightly lower light conditions. Ideal for lower rockwork or shaded areas where they can slowly encrust and spread.
 
Care Level & Compatibility
Rainbow Skittles Cyphastrea are considered relatively hardy and well suited to both beginner and experienced reef keepers. They grow by encrusting over rock surfaces and can gradually form impressive colourful colonies over time.
