- Ultra Atomic Torch Coral (Fimbriaphyllia glabrescens)
The Ultra Atomic Torch Coral (Fimbriaphyllia glabrescens) is a breathtaking, high-grade LPS coral prized for its explosive colour and long, flowing tentacles. Ultra specimens display intense fluorescence and dramatic contrast between the body and glowing tips, making them one of the most sought-after showpiece corals in the reef hobby.
- Colour & Appearance
Ultra Atomic Torches are known for their vibrant neon tones, often featuring bright green, yellow or gold tentacles with intensely glowing tips that appear almost electric under blue spectrum lighting. When fully extended, the long, flowing tentacles sway gracefully in the current, creating constant movement and a stunning focal point within the aquarium.
- Placement & Flow Requirements
Torch corals thrive under moderate lighting and gentle to moderate, indirect water flow. Avoid strong, direct flow which can cause the tentacles to retract. Best placed in mid to lower areas of the aquarium where they have room to fully expand and display their movement. Adequate spacing is important, as torch corals can extend sweeper tentacles.
- Care Level & Compatibility
Suitable for aquarists with some reef-keeping experience, Ultra Torch corals prefer stable water parameters and established reef systems. With proper placement and care, they develop excellent polyp extension and vibrant colour.
